Since 2019, All Energy Contracting (AEC) and Beon Energy Solutions have collaborated on seven utility-scale renewable projects. In 2022, Beon called on AEC to complete works on their largest project to date, Avonlie Solar Farm in New South Wales.
Over 12 months, AEC completed electrical reticulation work across the 600-hectare site. Almost 63 kilometres of trenching was completed and laid 30 kilometres of medium voltage (MV) cable laid in extremely swampy conditions.
Utilising its specialist wet weather equipment and years of construction experience on some of Australia’s toughest solar and wind farm settings, AEC completed the job on schedule.
Avonlie Solar Farm has been a highly successful project. Generating enough clean power for 100,000 homes each year, construction of the solar farm has also helped to bring what’s described as ‘generational change’ to the local Aboriginal community.
Beon set a new benchmark for how renewable projects should be delivered, with strong focus on community, engaging elders and the Indigenous community in genuine and early community effort. Going beyond advertising roles that were available, Beon helped individuals to complete applications and take up roles available on the solar farm. The result was more than 30 First Nations men and women being employed by Beon at Avonlie.
