Boulder Creek Wind Farm

Details

Boulder Creek Wind Farm is located 40km South West of Rockhampton and approximately 5km West of Mount Morgan in Central Queensland.

The project encompasses 38 GE Vernova turbines, designed to generate enough clean energy to take 130,000 petrol operated cars of the road.

AEC is delivering a complete EBOP package, including:

  • End-to-end MV cable reticulation: trenching, backfill, crossings, cable installation and reinstatement across the wind farm and substation interfaces.
  • Specialist civil/electrical works: complex trenching in mixed ground conditions, road and waterway crossings, and works within substation easements.
  • MV, LV and fibre installation: installation of power, control and communications cabling connecting turbines, junction boxes, met masts, O&M facilities and the substation.
  • Termination and testing: HV cable terminations at WTGs, junction boxes and substation, fibre splicing and testing, and full electrical testing prior to energisation.
  • Communications infrastructure: fibre optic networks, junction boxes, FOBOT splice systems, switches and patching.
  • Training and OEM compliance: training and installation using OEM-certified termination systems.
  • Quality, safety and delivery assurance: survey, as-builts, QA/QC documentation, and testing aligned with project and industry standards.
