The Brendale Supernode is a 520 MW / 1,856 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) developed by Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners as part of a larger integrated data-centre and renewable-energy precinct in Brendale, Queensland.
AEC was initially engaged for Stage 1 works and delivered a comprehensive, high-quality scope safely and on schedule, with zero lost time injury (LTI). Our strong performance, including proactive constructability input and swift resolution of design issues, led to AEC being awarded the entire construction package for Stage 2 of the development.
Key Scope & Capabilities:
- 33 kV HV Cabling – Trenching, installation, backfilling and termination of all 33 kV HV cables (154 inverters across Stages 1 & 2)
- Switchroom & Harmonic Filter Systems – Complete HV connection, termination and commissioning works
- 275 kV GIS Yard – HV connection, terminations and integration with the site-wide earthing system
- Administration Building – HV connection and termination works to support building services and data-centre operations
- DC Cabling & Terminations – Installation and termination of all DC cabling for each of the 464 BESS containers
- Earthing System – Full installation of the site-wide earthing network, integrated with HV, LV and DC systems
- LV & Communications – Civil works for LV power and communications cabling
- Testing & Commissioning – VLF testing of HV circuits and verification of DC and earthing continuity
