Flyers Creek Wind Farm is currently one of two utility-scale renewables projects executed by Iberdrola Australia with work packages from All Energy Contracting (AEC).
AEC was called on to the regional NSW project to recover schedules for the EPC. Working closely with Iberdrola on planning and execution, AEC successfully accelerated underground electrical works over 10 months to satisfy development deadlines.
AEC’s method of keeping open trenches for quality assurance to be executed with each stage of the process meant work was meanwhile, executed to the highest standards.
The project encompasses 38 wind turbines, access tracks, local road infrastructure upgrades, electrical connections between turbines, a 33kv powerline, onsite substation and 132kv power line and switching station connecting the wind farm to Essential Energy’s power lines.
Completed in early 2024, more than 230 jobs were created during construction, with six to eight local, permanent positions generated for the wind farm’s operations and maintenance. Flyers Creek generates approximately 450 gigawatt hours of clean, green energy each year.
