Construction on New Zealand’s largest solar farm, Lauriston Solar Farm, commenced in April 2024.
The 63-Megawatt project is Beon Energy Solutions’ New Zealand-based development following several successful large-scale solar projects across Australia, including multiple collaborations with FRV Services Australia (FRV) and All Energy Contracting (AEC).
AEC has been awarded construction at the 93-hectare solar farm, including civil works, and electrical reticulation, low and high voltage cabling required for almost 90,000 flat-panel PV solar modules.
AEC established New Zealand operations in April 2023 to support development of local utility-scale solar, wind and hydro projects, including Lauriston Solar Farm.
AEC collaborations with Beon across Australia and New Zealand represents more than 768MW capacity across seven projects that include Bomen Solar Farm, Metz Solar Farm, Avonlie Solar Farm.
Across Australia and New Zealand, AEC has worked with Beon to construct more than 768MW projects to date, including Bomen Solar Farm, Metz Solar Farm and Avonlie Solar Farm.
Lauriston Solar Farm is scheduled to be generating clean power by the end of 2024 with capacity to power 13,000 homes a year.
In May, Government-owned Genesis Energy signed a ten-year contract to supply Spark New Zealand with 100% of the clean power generated by Lauriston Solar Farm.
