This National Reconciliation Week, the All Energy Contracting team swapped hard hats for hairnets and headed into the kitchen at FareShare to support the Meals for the Mob initiative.
Working side by side, our team helped prepare nutritious meals that will be distributed to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities experiencing food insecurity. From chopping vegetables to packing meals, it was a chance to contribute to a cause that delivers real support to communities across Australia.
Meals for the Mob is a FareShare initiative that provides healthy, culturally appropriate meals to Indigenous Australians. Since launching in 2020, the program has delivered hundreds of thousands of meals to communities where access to nutritious food can be limited, helping ensure more people have a meal on the table when they need it most.
As Australia’s largest charity kitchen, FareShare turns rescued and donated food into free, nutritious meals for people facing hardship. Working with a network of charities and community organisations, FareShare prepares and distributes millions of meals each year, helping reduce food waste while supporting those doing it tough.
For our team, the day was about more than preparing meals. It was an opportunity to come together, connect with the purpose of National Reconciliation Week, and support an initiative making a tangible difference in communities around the country.
A big thank you to the FareShare team for welcoming us into their kitchen and for the incredible work they do every day. We’re grateful to have played a small part in helping serve up support where it’s needed most.
